Welcome to Stealers Town, home of The Maddawg Center!

Stealers Town is located at 900 East Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC 27284.

Stealers Town can be found inside of the old Dudley Cosmetology Property.

The Maddawg Center was formerly the event center on the Dudley Campus.  The Maddawg Center is where The Winston-Salem Stealers, Teach The Game, CRC, and Twin City Jazz practice.

The Maddawg Center has hosted a number of outside events such as Wrestlecade,  OASIS Church, and The IRON FIVE UNC Men’s Basketball Tour,  as well as book signings, birthday parties, volleyball and soccer practices, pickleball and Judo and Karate classes.  The Maddawg Center has also hosted a JUDO Documentary.

Stealers Town is a small community inside the campus dedicated to The Winston-Salem Stealers and the program’s long and successful history of players.

Stealers Town begins when you enter the property off of Mountain Street. You’ll pass our Stealers Blessing Box on your left.  As you head straight on our driveway the parking lot is ahead of you (the old Dudley hotel is on your right).  You’ll see a school building in front of you.

There will be an old house to your left.  Depending on whether you go straight towards the school classrooms or you make a left, you’ll see the parking lot which brings you into Stealers Town.

You’ll see four directional signs on the driveways leading to the Maddawg Center and surrounding the upper parking lot.  Each directional sign is named after a Winston-Salem Stealers alum:

  1. CHANTE BLACK Lane
  2. KATHERYN LYONS Crossing
  3. MEGAN BUCKLAND Drive
  4. ELLE SUTPHIN Loop

Chante’ played with the Stealers from 1998-2003 and was a consensus top twenty high school player in the United States.  Chante’ was The Winston-Saelm Stealers first McDonald’s All-American, WBCA High School All-American and USA Basketball Trial Invitee.  Chante’ went on to play basketball at Duke University and then in the WNBA, drafted 10th overall by the Connecticut Sun.   Chante’ played in the NCAA Championship Game vs. Maryland in 2006.

Katheryn Lyons played with the Stealers from 1999-2006 committing to play basketball as a sophomore in high school to the University of Maryland.  Katheryn later transferred to Marist University.  Katheryn was a member of the Terrapin team that advanced to the Elite Eight in 2008.

Megan played with the Stealers from 2006-2011 committing to play basketball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.   Megan’s UNC’s team made it to the 2013 ACC Championship Game and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight in 2014.  Megan made four straight 3-pointers in a Sweet 16 game vs. Elena Delle-Donne and the Delaware Blue Hens in 2013.

Elle played with the Stealers beginning in the 6th grade before graduating from high school a year early to attend N.C. State.  Elle was a member of two ACC Championship Titles and two Sweet 16s at N.C. State before transferring to Davidson College.

Each route you take towards The Maddawg Center’s lower lot where we also have outdoor basketball goals.

How did these four players get selected for the road signs?

  • These four players played at least five seasons with the Stealers and graduated from the program.
  • These four players all were ranked nationally in the top sixty players in the United States when they finished their careers with the Stealers, with Chante’ being the highest at #12.

Future streets, fields, buildings, lots, walkways and pathways will be named after alums who graduated from and represented the Stealers in a positive way either in college or in the professional world.

In the field behind the lower parking lot you’ll see our future outdoor fitness area with tires as well as soccer goals.
