The Winston-Salem Stealers Coach Howard West Hall of Fame Room at The Maddawg Center will open in the Fall of 2023.

There are so many wonderful people who have been a part of The Winston-Salem Stealers over the years that just choosing 2-3 per year wouldn’t suffice.  Instead, Coach Robinson is going to use the Hall of Fame room at The Maddawg Center to honor his varsity high school basketball coach, Howard West and the many contributions he has given to the facility (books, videos, photos).  After college Coach Robinson also was an assistant under Coach West for four years. During Coach R’s time as an assistant is when he started the Stealers program using many of Coach West’s foundational points to build the program in the early years.

In the Hall of Fame room will be a place to recognize the former Stealers who have graduated from our organization.  Anyone who graduated from the program, whether they played in college or not, can purchase a 8.5 x 11 plaque and submit a current or past picture of themselves to be hung in the room.   We will use the Hall of Fame as a rolling fundraiser for our program.  The cost for a plaque is $50.00.  The criteria to be considered for a place in the Hall of Fame is that you graduated from our program no matter the number of years you played for us.

You can use www.paypal.me/crcws or Venmo @Teach-TheGame or CashApp $TTGWSS. You can also mail a check to: The W-S Stealers Girls Basketball / 900 East Mountain Street, Building E, Kernersville, NC 27284.

Much like our Wall of Hands celebrates all of the players who helped build the program, the Hall of Fame room will do the same giving the players a face to go with a name.

Coaches, players, and volunteers of the Stealers are welcome to join the Hall of Fame.  Again, the program is about the wonderful people we have had over the years.  Yes, lots and lots of good players (and coaches and volunteers), but the people are what has made us successfully consistent for so long.

If there are former players who played for Coach West who have old pictures or items that you would like to donate to the room, please let Coach R know.

The Coach Howard West Hall of Fame room will have trophies and plaques that are our current teams have won since we have been at The Maddawg Center, some newspaper articles featuring some of our program accomplishments and sponsorship plaques.   If you are interested in your business becoming a sponsor, that cost is $100.00 and you can use the payment options above.  Business sponsors will also receive a 8.5 x 11 plaque to be hung in the room.

GO STEALERS!!!
