The Winston-Salem Stealers are offering an intro to AAU League for girls 2nd-4th graders at The Maddawg Center.
The Maddawg Center is located at 900 East Mountain Street / Building E / Kernersville, NC 27284.
Last season, the program allowed players to compete against outside clubs and programs. This season, the league will be in an intramural setting where the participants will use the following format:
- 40-45 minutes of skills instruction before playing 15-20 minutes of an intramural game vs. other participants. Coach Brian Robinson (Coach R) will run the skill sessions.
- Each team will have a non-parent coach.
- Games will be officiated.
- Games will be played on a ten foot goal. If a player cannot reach a ten foot goal, they can still participate, but may want to look at our developing dribblers program where the height of the goals will be lower.
- Skills and games are played with the 28.5 basketball.
- Participants will receive a jersey or T-shirt.
- The goal is to introduce players into the game before offering them the opportunity to graduate to the AAU Club Basketball Level which begins around the 4th grade level.
The schedule will be as follows:
- Fridays from 5:30-6:30 beginning in March.
