292 Basketball Report

292 Basketball Report

HISTORY:

The 292 Basketball Report was established in 2003 to provide another avenue for The Winston-Salem Stealers players to be evaluated for potential college level play.

The 292 Basketball Report held showcase events in the fall on Saturdays and Mondays for Stealers players to demonstrate their skill work through drills and then games.

The Saturday events became very popular and were eventually opened up to outside participants while the Monday events were strictly for Stealers players.

In 2003, the event grew to sixty players when held at the Kernersville YMCA and had college coaches from UNC, UCONN, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, and Duke in attendance.

The Stealers grew and gym space shrunk, plus the addition of many other individual showcase events popping up around the state and country so the 292 Basketball Report Showcase was put to the side.

CURRENT PLAN:

The 292 Basketball Report will return in January 2026 and will be held at four different times during the year.

The event will be held at The Maddawg Center in Kernersville and will take place in January, April, June and September for registrants.

The showcase days will have forty-five minutes of skill and drill work and forty-five minutes to an hour or game play.

Each session will be recorded, and link will be posted on our website and sent to all colleges in our database along with a post on all of our social media accounts.

Coach Robinson WILL NOT rank his Stealers players but instead send the link to a few of his friends who do rank and evaluate players nationally and globally. Those evaluators will then expand the reach of exposure to their college and professional contacts.

Players and parents will be able to go onto their TTG profile page to view their evaluations which come from one of Coach Robinson’s national evaluator friends.

Using the registration form, the players information will be placed in a booklet just like at an NCAA College Recruiting Event that way college coaches have access to begin the recruiting process.  The information will be shared with just the college coaches and the national evaluators that Coach Robinson trusts.

THE WINSTON-SALEM STEALERS CURRENT STATE IN REGARDS TO COLLEGE RECRUITMENT:

Coach Robinson’s college coach relationships can be found HERE.

The Winston-Salem Stealers have had over two hundred girls go onto play ball in college at various levels.

Our Class of 2026 and 2027, as of the fall of 2025, have ten players with offers to play in college.

WHY BRING THE 292 BASKETBALL REPORT BACK:

Coach Robinson feels that too many times when players attend these types of events, the ball isn’t shared enough because everyone is going for their own trying to showcase what they can do individually.

Then, the operators of these events don’t have the college contacts they claim to have, and their evaluations lead to nothing, basically hitting a dead end.

A lot of the events are unorganized, and the skill work is not relatable or transferable to college level play.

Coach Robinson feels that if the event is, for now, for our players only, it can better showcase each player’s skill set and thus, in turn, help them with another resource for their college recruitment.

ELIGIBLE GRADES, REGISTRATION LIMITS AND COSTS:

Current 5th-12th Graders will be allowed to register for the program.

If your daughter is in the Teach The Game Program (TTG) and / or the 292 College Program, there is a discount.

The cost for the 5th-8th grade program is $40.00 / session if your daughter is in TTG and / or the 292 College Program or $150.00 for the year (4 sessions).

The cost for the 9th-12th grade program is $40.00 session if your daughter is in TTG and / or the 292 College Program or $110.00 for the year (3 sessions).

If your daughter is in the 5th-8th grade but not in TTG and / or the 292 College Program, the cost is $175.00 for the year or $50.00 / session.

If your daughter is in the 9th-12th grade but not in TTG and / or the 292 College Program, the cost is $50.00 / session or $135.00 for the year (3 sessions).

There will be a limit in January of twenty players.

Thee April, June and September sessions will have a maximum of forty players.

SCHEDULE:

The January session will be for 5th-8th graders only. No high school participants allowed.

The April, June and September sessions will be for 5th-th grades, but the players will be separated (5th-8th and 9th-12th) assuming there are enough registrants.

The dates and times are as follows (subject to change):

  • January 11: 1:00-2:30
  • April 12: 1:00-3:00
  • June 14: 1:00-3:00
  • September: TBA

These months are chosen for the following reasons:

In January, the college coaches can start to build a data base of the younger players coming up in our program. Every time a college coach contacts Coach Robinson about one of our older players, he makes sure to mention the talent base in the younger portion of the program. January allows for a stand-alone time for the younger players and sets the table for them if they play in a showcase event in the spring or summer.

April allows the 292 Basketball Report to be sent out before the older players play in their first college recruiting event of the spring.

June allows the 292 Basketball Report to be sent out before our players play in July.

September allows the seniors one final showcase if they are hoping for additional offers or just one offer and it leads into the upcoming school ball season.
