The Places We Have Been
Before you say to someone, ‘You haven’t given me enough’, you need to ask yourself ‘What has that person asked for in return?’ “If the answer you arrive at is “Well, not much or nothing at all, maybe just my friendship or to see me do well”, then that person you are complaining about has probably given you more than you really deserved in the first place.
Our program has been to many interesting and fun places all because of basketball. The game allows many doors to open up to the world for our young people.
The wins, the losses, the celebrations, the heartbreaks, the scores of the games, the opponents… all of those moments are “at the time” events that more than likely won’t be remembered on these trips…
What will be remembered are those “moments”; the moments with your teammates away from the game, the people you meet along the way, and the time you spend with your basketball “family”.
Whether it was an out-of-state invitational, an AAU National Tournament, a college exposure-event, a 292 University Visit, or a program-related event… the opportunity to learn about the world through the game of basketball has been one of the best parts of this program for everyone.
